After entering the Navy shortly after her graduation from Castle Rock High School in 2008, Aviation Electrician First Class Krystal Pierce now looks forward to supporting the U.S. Navy Rhino Demonstration Team as a quality assurance representative, ensuring proper controls are in place to safeguard the aircraft during the 2020 air show season.

“We are a training command, and the most rewarding element is when we get the jets in the air,” Pierce said in a recent press release. “We are training pilots and weapon systems officers for when they go overseas as they protect the service members on the ground like my brother, who served seven tours total in Iraq and Afghanistan.”

Pierce comes from a family dedicated to service. Her grandfather served in World War II and Korea, and her mother recently retired after 30 years in the U.S. Air Force.
