Washington State Patrol has identified the driver involved in a single-vehicle crash Monday on southbound Interstate 5 as a 20-year-old Washougal man.
Adrian J. Calzada-Gonzales was killed in the wreck on a bridge over the Coweeman River. His identity was confirmed by the Cowlitz County Coroner’s Office, according to a State Patrol news release.
Troopers say Calzada-Gonzales was southbound on the freeway near Milepost 38 when the Mercedes he was driving struck the concrete barrier on the left, “spun across all three lanes, and struck the guardrail on the right side.”
The car came to rest in the center lane facing the wrong way, and “the driver was not located,” the news release says. Evidence showed Calzada-Gonzales was ejected during the crash, State Patrol spokesman Will Finn told The Daily News in Longview.
