Even though we have had no measurable precipitation this week, we have had more clouds than sunshine. So what’s up with that? I can say it was sunnier along the south Washington coast and south of Portland. The clouds were just slow to go away.
Today, however, we should see mostly sunny skies for most of the day. Friday during the day it may be dry, but Saturday’s cold front is looking like it will hit us in the late evening or nighttime hours on Friday. Much colder air follows with snow levels down below 1,000 feet so our foothills will get another dusting of snow. The good news if there is any, the front should be by to our east and Sunday, the first day of March may be partly sunny.
Showers would remain over the higher terrain but hopefully we escape them altogether; I can’t promise that going on the track record of these slow moving clouds. The first week of March will be typical with plenty of showers most of the week as it appears right now.
Leap day on Saturday will act more like a lion and take the roar out of the first day of March on Sunday. So, we’ll present that as the lamb grazing in partly sunny skies after morning clouds. Thank goodness, we don’t need lions lashing us with blustery winds and downpours. We had plenty of that last month.
