Police arrested a man after a high-speed Friday night chase that twice entered Vancouver from Portland and ended in a crash in Portland. No one was hurt.
Portland police tried at 7:30 p.m. to pull over the suspect, Dylan M. Miller, 25, who was driving a stolen Chevrolet pickup truck near North Houghton Street and North Foss Avenue, according to a news release from the Portland Police Bureau. Miller sped away, said police, who stopped pursuing him due to safety concerns, but then spotted the Chevrolet pickup a short time later.
An airplane from the Portland Police Air Support Unit joined the pursuit while the truck drove north on Interstate 5 into Vancouver, then east on state Highway 14 and back into Oregon via I-5, the news release stated.
Miller then stopped his pickup in the Cascade Station parking lot and got into another vehicle, a Honda Accord, that was previously reported stolen, according to the news release. He drove back into Vancouver on Interstate 205, going as fast as 100 mph. He drove west to I-5, then drove south and went back into Portland.
