The Wildcats came up one win short of reaching the 1A state regional round with the loss to Montesano in the second-place game of the 1A district at W.F. West.
La Center (14-9), which beat Montesano 64-53 last Saturday, couldn’t overcome the Bulldogs height.
“They just outrebounded us,” La Center coach Herm VanWeerdhuizen said. “They are bigger and got us underneath the basket.”
Kylee Stephens led La Center in scoring with 19 points, and Lauren Fox had 12.
