The Vancouver Police Department and area law enforcement agencies are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a string of thefts and robberies at stores in the Portland metro area.

There have been 14 incidents in at least four cities, including Vancouver, Portland and Gresham and Hillsboro in Oregon. The suspect is targeting fragrance merchandise at a specific store, according to a police bulletin.

Vancouver police did not state which store the suspect is hitting; however, one of the photos shows him leaving an Ulta Beauty.

The suspect is described as an African-American man in his 20s, with a slim to medium build and a goatee, police said.

“The suspect’s actions have been escalating, and he has threatened victim store employees at least twice during the 14 mentioned incidents,” according to the police department.

Anyone with information about the suspect should text or leave a voicemail at 360-518-4101 or contact the Vancouver Police Department’s West Precinct at 360-487-7355 during business hours.
