Boys basketball: King’s Way Christian 88, Montesano 50

The Knights made sure early they weren’t going home with a 30-6 first quarter and they went on to win the loser-out game at the 1A district tournament in Castle Rock.

Brady Metz scored a game-high 34 points on 12 of 17 shooting with 10 3-pointers for King’s Way (18-5).

Gage Koenders added 15 points, and Kobi Cason had 10.

The Knights will play Forks (15-8) at 6 p.m. Saturday at Kelso High School for the third and final district berth to the regional round of state.
