Parish, Noftsker, Yamashita lead Columbia River boys to 2A district swim title

Parish and Noftsker win two races each for Chieftains

Simon Parish, Liam Noftsker and Owen Yamashita all won district titles in leading the Columbia River boys swimming team to the team title at the 2A district meet Saturday in Mark Morris.

Noftsker won the 100-yard freestyle (48.75 seconds) and 100 backstroke (54.03). Parish won the 100 butterfly (55.41) and 200 individual medley (2:01.75). Yamashita won the 200 freestyle (2:01.51).

The Chieftains also won the 200 medley and 400 free relays on their way to beating Mark Morris 287-252 for the team title.

Hockinson’s Alex Wendler won the 100 breaststroke (1:06.08) and teammate Parker Dangleis won the 500 freestyle (5:32.09). Kodee Soetamin won the 50 freestyle (22.60), as the Monarchs won the 200 free relay.
