An unidentified man was critically injured Sunday night when he was struck by a vehicle near Horseshoe Lake in Woodland, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
A sheriff’s office press release said that responders were called about 7:35 p.m. to the 38000 block of Northwest Lakeshore Drive. They arrived to find a man with critical injuries in the roadway and the two occupants of the vehicle that had struck him. He was transported to a hospital.
The two occupants, a 19-year-old male driver and 17-year-old female passenger, said they were driving south on Northwest Lakeshore Drive when the pedestrian, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black slacks, stepped into the path of their vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.
There is no indication that the driver of the vehicle was impaired at the time of the collision, and no citations were issued, the sheriff’s office said.
