Nate Snook scored 18 points and contributed some tough defense as the Columbia River boys basketball team wrapped up the 3A Greater St. Helens League title with a 58-40 win over visiting R.A. Long on Saturday.
“Snook was solid all the way through,” Columbia River coach David Long said. “They made life tough on him, but he managed to get 18 and run our offense.”
R.A. Long led 37-36 after three quarters, but the Chieftains responded with a 20-5 fourth quarter.
“The game was a lot tighter than the score indicates,” Long said. “(R.A. Long) really played well and shot the ball well. Our shot selections was not good in the first half, but then we settled down in the second half.”
