Police arrested a 32-year-old man Wednesday morning after he allegedly robbed someone at knifepoint at a bus stop in downtown Vancouver.

Vancouver police were called at about 9:15 a.m. to the area of Broadway and Mill Plain Boulevard for a robbery that had just occurred, department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said in an email.

The victim said he was robbed of his cellphone. He was not injured.

Police found the suspect at the intersection of Columbia and 13th streets. However, he reportedly advanced toward officers, who used a police K-9 to detain him, Kapp said.

The suspect, identified as George A. Mata, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery and booked into the Clark County Jail.
