Clark County reports 100 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths on Wednesday

Clark County recorded 100 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths Wednesday, according to Clark County Public Health.

The deaths were a man in his 50s with underlying conditions and a woman in her 60s with underlying conditions, according to Public Health. Their deaths bring the toll from COVID-19 to 137 to date, with 126 confirmed deaths and 11 suspected deaths.

A COVID-19 death is considered confirmed if COVID-19 is listed as the cause of death or a contributing factor on the death certificate and the person had a positive COVID-19 test. Suspected deaths are counted if COVID-19 is not listed as a contributing factor on a death certificate but wasn’t ruled out as a cause of death and the person had tested positive for COVID-19 within 28 days of their death.

The 100 new cases pushed Clark County’s total number of COVID-19 cases to date to 12,077, according to Public Health data.

Public Health reported 788 active cases, counting people who have tested positive, are still in their isolation period and considered contagious.

There are 51 people hospitalized in Clark County with COVID-19 and six people hospitalized awaiting test results, according to Public Health.
