CAMAS — Santa’s Posse, a partnership between the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and community, was the recipient of a $15,470 donation by the Camas-Washougal Rotary Club and WaferTech, a Camas-based semiconductor manufacturer. The funds will help buy toys and food to be distributed to 1,200 families in Clark County. “Our Community Volunteer Program was faced with the challenge this year in keeping with the spirit of making a special Christmas holiday for the less fortunate families in our community while keeping employees safe during the pandemic,” John Megli, director of human resources at WaferTech, said in a news release. “So we provided opportunity for WaferTech employees to donate cash instead of shopping for food and toys.” The Rotary club joined with WaferTech for the effort. “It just made sense that we could join forces and create something bigger,” said Diane Sperling, WaferTech’s community volunteer program co-lead. The check was presented to Clark County Sheriff Chuck Atkins on Dec. 11.
