C-Tran announced Monday that it will extend bus Route 71 to serve The Waterfront Vancouver development beginning Jan. 10. Route 71 serves the Highway 99 corridor, running between downtown Vancouver and the 99th Street Transit Center in Hazel Dell.

The current route ends on West Sixth Street in downtown, using the traffic circle next to City Hall as a turnaround. On the new route, buses will take Columbia Street south to reach the waterfront, then travel along Columbia Way to Grant Street and loop back onto West Sixth Street.

The change will add two stops along Columbia Way — one at the intersection with Columbia Street and the other at Parkway Place, one block east of Grant Street.
