Clark County recorded 489 new COVID-19 cases but no new deaths since Friday, according to data released Monday.
Clark County Public Health reported that the new cases pushed the county’s total number of COVID-19 cases to 11,119 since the pandemic began in March.
The three-day case total works out to an average of 163 new cases per day, slightly lower than the average of about 178 cases per day reported last week.
The number of active and potentially cases dropped below 1,000 on Monday, falling to 922 cases of people with COVID-19 still in their isolation period. It was 1,045 on Friday.
There were 48 people hospitalized with COVID-19, up seven from Friday, and there were 11 people hospitalized awaiting test results.
The total number of confirmed and suspect deaths from COVID-19 held steady at 127 to date as of Monday, according to Public Health, which had reported 15 deaths last week.
A death is counted as “suspect” if COVID-19 is not listed as a contributing factor on the death certificate but wasn’t ruled out as cause of death, and that the person had tested positive for COVID-19 within 28 days of their death.
A confirmed death is when COVID-19 is listed as cause of death or contributing factor on the death certificate and the case has a positive COVID-19 test.
As of Monday, Public Health was reporting 10 suspect deaths and 117 confirmed deaths for the total of 127 COVID-19 associated deaths to date.
