RIDGEFIELD — Clark County Fairgrounds received a $2,000 grant from a farmer-owned cooperative, Wilco, headquartered in Mt. Angel, Ore. The company offered funds to help county fairs conduct virtual auctions so 4-H and Future Farmers of America members could still sell animals during the pandemic. Wilco also was an active bidder in the process.”Many of our team members were in FFA and 4H as kids, so we immediately recognized how disheartening the situation was with fairs canceled,” said Sam Bugarsky, president and CEO of Wilco. “We were happy to add the additional donations and be active in virtual auctions to add good things in tough times.”
