Clark County reported nine new COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday, pushing the county’s total death toll from the novel coronavirus pandemic to 100.
The deaths were reported as Clark County Public Health reported 67 new COVID-19 cases and an activity rate of 427.64 new cases per 100,000 population over two weeks.
The fatalities included two men age 80 or older with underlying conditions; three women age 80 or older with underlying conditions; two women in their 70s with underlying conditions; a man in his 50s with underlying conditions and a woman age 80 or older with no underlying conditions.
It has been seven days since the county’s death toll from COVID-19 passed 90. The last death was reported on Nov. 24.
The new COVID-19 cases bring Clark County’s total to 8,908 to date, according to Public Health data.
Hospitalizations remained steady, with 77 people hospitalized with COVID-19 and four people hospitalized awaiting test results.
The number of active cases, which tracks people still in their isolation period, fell to 376 on Tuesday.
Testing data for the period of Nov. 8-14 showed positivity rates dropped to 13.44 percent, compared with 14.23 percent the week before. Public Health data showed 1,010 positive tests out of 7,509 tests administered in that period, during which the county was averaging about 119 new cases per day.

Statewide totals from the illness caused by the coronavirus are at 165,019 cases and 2,774 deaths, up from 162,700 cases and 2,703 deaths on Sunday.
