SUNNYSIDE — A Vancouver church has removed $2 million in medical debt for families, according to a news release. Crossroads Community Church partnered with RIP Medical Debt, a medical debt relief nonprofit, to pay off medical debt for people in Washington and New York, the release said. “Our Crossroads family loves to bless our community and our world with the love of Jesus Christ in practical ways,” Lead Pastor Daniel Fusco said in the release. “We are outward-focused and want to be a community that makes the world a better place.” For every $100 donated to RIP Medical Debt, $10,000 in medical debt is wiped out, according to RIP Medical Debt’s website. LoveNow, the outreach arm of Crossroads Community Church, launched the Coronavirus Relief Fund to help meet needs during the pandemic. They also launched a food pantry. “I can’t imagine a better way for our family of faith to respond during a pandemic. When people are hurting, we want to respond with real love in action,” Fusco said in the release.
