The Woodland City Council is once again considering an ordinance that would allow retail marijuana sales within city limits.
The ordinance would allow sales in the city’s highway commercial zoning district. Retail sales would add between $40,000 and $120,000 to the city’s annual revenue, Community Development Director Travis Goddard wrote in a staff report.
Washington voters approved recreational pot in 2012, but the city council had since banned sales.
The council held a public hearing on the proposed ordinance Monday night. Three people commented, two of whom were in favor and one against.
If approved at a future council meeting, the ordinance would take effect five days after its official publication.
