The Washington Department of Labor and Industries announced Tuesday that it has signed a reciprocal agreement with the Oregon Building Codes Division to allow journey-level general electricians who are licensed in one state to apply for a license in the other without taking an examination, under certain conditions.

Qualified applicants would only need to fill out a form, provide documentation and pay a fee in order to be eligible to work in the other state, according to a press release from L&I. The agreement took effect Aug. 17. More information is available at lni.wa.gov/licensing-permits/electrical/electrical-licensing-exams-education/electrician.
