One person wounded in Saturday shooting at Frenchman’s Bar Park

Victim was driven to hospital; police continue to investigate

One person was expected to survive after being wounded in a shooting Saturday evening at Frenchman’s Bar Park in Vancouver.

The victim was shot in the hip and driven to a hospital in a private vehicle, according to Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp. The hospital notified police.

The shooting occurred about 7 p.m. at 9612 N.W. Lower River Road, according to a Sunday news release from the police department.

Kapp said the Major Crimes Unit and Safe Street Task Force are continuing to investigate.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident, including video and photos, to call 360-487-7399.
