Firefighters rescued a 37-year-old woman at a popular swimming area at Lacamas Lake called Potholes on Saturday evening.

A Battalion Chief with the Camas-Washougal Fire Department said that the woman was climbing down a slope to a creek when she fell and hit her head.

Firefighters responded to the call and used a rope system to bring the woman up the embankment, where she was placed onto a backboard and taken to the hospital. She was responsive and reported having chest pain, the Battalion Chief said.

Her condition is unknown, according to the Battalion Chief, and her identity was not available.
