A fire damaged two houses Friday night in Clark County’s Sherwood neighborhood, but no injuries were reported.

Clark County Fire District 6 crews were dispatched around 7 p.m. to the 3500 block of Northeast 113th Street for a report of a residential fire.

The first arriving engines found a working attic fire at 3517 N.E. 113th St., and an exterior fire burning the vinyl siding of the neighboring home at 3521 N.E. 113th St., fire district spokesman Dave Schmitke said.

A third engine responded to the scene and focused on a vegetation fire between the homes while other crews worked to extinguish the buildings, Schmitke said.

An engine from the Vancouver Fire Department was also called to help with the water supply. The fire was quickly extinguished, but crews remained on scene for more than two hours to clean up.

The homeowner declined assistance from the American Red Cross, Schmitke said.
