Clark County Public Health reported 61 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday afternoon, pushing the county’s total cases to 1,946.

No new deaths were reported Tuesday, leaving the death toll at 40.

The current incidence of new COVID-19 cases in Clark County is 74.3 active cases per 100,000 residents over 14 days, down from 96.4.

The 14-day period starts six days prior to the current date to account for a lag in reporting.

The county needs to achieve a rate of not more than 25 cases per 100,000 population, among other metrics, to qualify to move to Phase 3 of Washington’s Safe Start Plan.

According to its website, Public Health is compiling data for key metrics outlined in the Phase 3 application weekly. However, the county does not have an anticipated deadline for a new application. The county’s previous application, filed June 26 shortly before Gov. Jay Inslee put all applications on hold, was returned.

On Monday, 107 new cases were added to the county’s total.

Public Health said Tuesday on Twitter that it hopes to update age data on its website in the next few days. It hopes to update ZIP code data soon, as well. Neither have been updated since July 6 because the agency was focusing on training new staff.

As of Tuesday, PeaceHealth Southwest and Legacy Salmon Creek medical centers have 15 cases of COVID-19, with nine more hospitalized patients waiting for test results. The Clark County hospitals are 53.7 percent full, with 3.8 percent of beds occupied by COVID-19 patients or suspected patients.
