Clark County adds 107 new COVID-19 cases

More than a hundred new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed by Clark County Public Health early this afternoon.

Clark County added 107 cases over the weekend for a total of 1,885 since early March. The county has seen 40 deaths from novel coronavirus.

Numbers released on Monday represent totals for Friday through Sunday. Public Health does not release positive case totals over the weekend. In July, the Monday totals were: July 6, 107 cases; July 13, 106 cases; July 20, 92 cases; and July 27, 48 cases.

The last update from Public Health on Friday included 22 new cases and one new death. A total of 146 cases were reported last week.

As of Monday, 16 people are hospitalized for COVID-19 in Clark County, with three more patients at Legacy Salmon Creek or PeaceHealth Southwest medical centers waiting for tests results. Currently 3 percent of hospital beds in the county are occupied by coronavirus patients or those waiting on tests, with 63.2 percent of total beds occupied.

As of Saturday, more than 58,000 people have tested positive across the state, with 1,596 deaths from novel coronavirus. The state’s death rate is 2.7 percent. More than 1 million people in Washington — including more than 36,000 in Clark County — have been tested for the disease with a statewide positivity rate of 5.8 percent.
