VAN MALL — A Vancouver student was among 35 college-bound students selected by the ACA International Education Foundation for a Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship. Ethan McKague received a $3,000 scholarship to attend Brigham Young University, where he is studying computer science. The ACA International Education Foundation nonprofit is the philanthropic arm of ACA International, or the former American Collectors Association, based in Minneapolis. The scholarship program honors the memory of Robert E. Loomer and Irvin “Dempsey” Mortenson, and is available annually to employees of the accounts receivable management industry and members of their families. McKague’s parent is employed by Ontario Systems in Vancouver. Winners are selected based on GPA and an essay outlining the value of consumer credit.
