BATTLE GROUND — Ten Battle Ground graduates each received $2,000 scholarships from the Lewis River Rotary Club. The selections were based on academic achievement, community service, letters of recommendation and also a written essay. Winners received notice of their selection with a visit by Lewis River Rotary Club President Larry Crispien and wife, Sandy. “Had it not been for COVID-19 restrictions, there would have been many hugs. This was definitely a highlight of my presidential year,” Crispien said. Scholarship recipients are: Erica Moody, Hailey Hamilton, Hannah Buck, Jaelyn Carr and Lillian Crossley, all of Battle Ground High School; Logan Femling and Meri Dunford, of Prairie High School; Nathan Brinton, CAM Academy; Melissa Dissen, River Homelink High School; and Madelyn Hartrim-Lowe, home school. Students were congratulated at the group’s weekly meeting, held at 7 a.m. on Tuesdays via Zoom. For more information about the club, contact Lewis Rotary Club President Linda Allen at 360-607-4920 or find them on Facebook.
