Clark County Public Health confirmed eight new COVID-19 cases Wednesday morning, upping the county’s case count to 351 since March 6.
There were four new cases announced Tuesday, and 12 on Monday (cases announced on Monday include confirmed cases from the weekend).
There were no new deaths reported, so Clark County still has 21 coronavirus-related deaths. At least 3,908 people have been tested. According to Public Health, the number of individuals tested is provided by the Washington State Department of Health and understates the number of people tested in Clark County. The state data does not include people receiving rapid-result testing. The number of positive tests includes all positive tests reported to Public Health, regardless of testing method.
There are 14 people hospitalized in Clark County for the virus, and five people are being treated in an intensive care unit, according to Public Health data from Tuesday.
There have been 70 reported cases in long-term care facilities in Clark County. No new cases were reported Wednesday.
According to a report from KGW-TV, seven deaths and 26 cases have been tied to Highgate Senior Living, an independent and assisted living facility in Hazel Dell.
“Assisted living facilities like this are more like home environments where people spend time in close contact with one another,” Clark County Public Health Officer Dr. Alan Melnick told the TV station.
As of Monday, there were 490 people hospitalized across Washington for COVID-19 in 83 different hospitals, according to the latest state Department of Health bulletin. There were 156 people in the ICU.
That’s a drop from April 22, when 83 hospitals reported 551 COVID-19 hospitalizations and 164 people in the ICU. More than 13,800 cases of the disease have been confirmed statewide, with nearly 800 deaths.
