Portland-based Medical Teams International will hold weekly emergency dental clinics at Vancouver Church beginning Wednesday.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Medical Teams International shifted its focus to preventing the spread of the virus and supporting local health systems. “With dentist offices closed, these clinics are operating across Washington and Oregon with the goal to ease stress on an already burdened health care system,” a news release said.

The emergency dental clinic in Vancouver is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday through May 27 at 3300 N.E. 78th St. When prospective patients drive up, Medical Teams International will screen for COVID-19 symptoms and temperature, as well as take health histories and blood pressure. Patients will be called in for treatment from their cars or an open-air waiting area.

There is no charge for services, which are available to patients who don’t have dental insurance, are underinsured, or without means to pay for or otherwise access emergency dental treatment. Visit medicalteams.org/how-we-heal/mobile-dental-program/emergency-dental-clinics/ to learn more.
