Two men accused of chasing people while brandishing a knife

Two men were arrested Tuesday night after allegedly chasing two people while brandishing a kitchen knife outside a convenience store in Vancouver’s Rose Village neighborhood.

Police were dispatched about 7:30 p.m. for a report of a brandishing in progress at East 33rd and S streets. The 911 caller reported that two men had displayed knives and chased his friend, Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said in an email.

Responding officers set up containment in the area and deployed a K-9 to track the suspects.

Two men matching the suspects’ descriptions were located at East 33rd and W streets. Officers attempted to stop them, but the suspects refused to comply, Kapp said.

Officers used less-lethal force and the K-9 to take one of the suspects into custody, Kapp said, and a Taser was used on the other suspect.

A large knife was found on one of the suspects and a sharp peeling instrument was found on the other, she said.

Police identified the suspects as NP Tosi, 20, and JM Ocey, 21; no city of residence was listed for either.

One of the suspects was treated at the scene for Taser dart removal, and the other was evaluated at a hospital. Both Tosi and Ocey were booked into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of second-degree assault and felony harassment.
