Clark County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two men after they allegedly shot at a house in Minnehaha from a minivan Friday night. No one was injured during the shooting.

At about 9:08 p.m., deputies received reports of a drive-by shooting near 3314 N.E. 41st St., according to a news release from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrived near the scene and were flagged down by a witness, who directed them toward a red minivan driving away, according to the news release.

The minivan fled and drove through a fence and several residences’ yards while being chased by deputies, according to the news release. The minivan came to a stop and the suspects fled on foot.

A helicopter with the Portland Police Air Support Unit and the Vancouver Police assisted in finding the suspects, who were in the area, and they were booked into the Clark County Jail. The press release did not state the suspect’s names, but Austin T. Meehan and Yana N. Cook were booked into the Clark County Jail for drive-by shooting charges on Saturday morning.

They are due to appear in court on Monday. One deputy was sent to the hospital and released after sustaining minor injuries from the pursuit.

The investigation is still ongoing, and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information on the shooting to contact jeff.ruppel@clark.wa.gov.
