The Toutle River rest areas along Interstate 5 are closing for repair work from April 20 to 22.
The Washington Department of Transportation is asking travelers to plan ahead for the closures. The agency said in a news release that it is working to ensure that all rest stops remain open during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Septic-system repair work needs to be done at the Toutle River stops on both directions of the freeway, the news release says.
The closures will begin at 6:30 a.m. April 20 and go until 6:30 p.m. April 22, according to the Department of Transportation.
During the temporary closures, travelers heading south on I-5 can find the next rest area at Gee Creek at Milepost 11 and northbound at Scatter Creek at Milepost 90.
