Sophie Franklin of Camas is Week 3 fall sports prep athlete of the week

Franklin is a standout of slowpitch softball team

Sophie Franklin of the Camas slowpitch softball team is the The Columbian fall sports prep athlete of the week for the week ending Sept. 28.

Franklin beat out Columbia River’s Yaneisy Rodriguez for the honor.

Franklin went 7 for 11 with a double, home run and nine RBI in four wins for the Papermakers last week.

Nominations are limited to one per sport, one per school, each week.

Winners of athlete of the week may not be nominated again until the postseason. Individual nominations are limited to one per month.

Nominees

  • ALLEN KIM, SKYVIEW BOYS GOLF: Kim won the Prairie Invitational with a 1-under 67 at The Cedars.
  • KEVIN KIM, MOUNTAIN VIEW BOYS TENNIS: Kim won the Flight 2 singles title, helping Mountain View the Thunder Invitational.
  • KATIE KOGLER, FIRM FOUNDATION VOLLEYBALL: Kogler had 39 kills, 11 aces and 12 digs in two wins for the Eagles.
  • YANEISY RODRIGUEZ, COLUMBIA RIVER GIRLS SOCCER: Rodriguez had six goals and two assists in two league wins for the Chieftains.
