How Clark County college football players fared, Sept. 28

By Micah Rice, Columbian Sports Editor
Published: September 29, 2019, 4:16pm

In the past decade, Clark County has made large contributions to the Southern Oregon University football program.

Of course, the biggest role was played by Austin Dodge, a Skyview grad who set every major NAIA passing record and led the Raiders to the 2014 national championship.

That connection continues, as three local players played parts in Southern Oregon’s first win of the season on Saturday.

Parker Randle, a redshirt-junior from Battle Ground High, caught a 4-yard touchdown pass in SOU’s 29-28 win over Carroll College. Randle had four catches for a team-high 54 yards.

Also starting at wide receiver is senior Jordan Suell. The Fort Vancouver grad hauled in a 38-yard catch in Saturday’s win.

On defense, redshirt-junior Nate Kuratli (Union HS) has started three of five games  at linebacker for Southern Oregon (1-4). He had two tackles and a pass broken up on Saturday and posted a season high of 13 tackles on Sept. 7 against Eastern Oregon.

As always, email updates to Sports Editor Micah Rice at micah.rice@columbian.com. I’m especially looking for tips on local players at California junior colleges, as those rosters can be tough to find early in the season.
