Clark County Public Works and Vancouver Parks and Recreation will partner to clean up cigarette butts and other litter at local parks starting at 9 a.m. on Oct. 26. Volunteers will meet at 9 a.m. at various parks in the Vancouver area. Wear weather-appropriate clothing, long pants, closed-toe shoes and bring water to drink. Gloves will be provided to those who do not have them. You can indicate which park you would like to volunteer at using the registration link: https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/MP1qyzxdQe1VRu. Participants under the age of 18 must print out and sign a parental consent form.

Evergreen Habitat for Humanity is having a stuffing party to stuff and seal their newsletter from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 24. Volunteers are welcome to come when they are available and stay for as long or as short as they’d like. Coffee and snacks will be served.

FISH of Orchards seeks food-bank helpers to fill orders, shelve items, sort clothes and bag dry goods. Four-hour shifts are preferred, groups are welcome.

Human Services Council Volunteers in Motion is recruiting volunteers to screen and register passengers who need transportation to meet their basic needs and engage willing volunteers to assist them in getting where they need to go. All drivers need to be at least 21, have a current driver’s license, clean driving record, current insurance and be able to pass a background check.

New Seasons staff and Clark County Green Business invite volunteers to spruce up Homestead Park. Volunteers will be weeding plant beds, laying down mulch, picking up litter, removing invasive species and completing other volunteer duties as needed. Meet at the Southeast entrance of Homestead Park. Training, gloves, tools, water and snacks will be provided. People of all ages and abilities are welcome. Dress for the weather and wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Youth under 18 must bring a signed minor consent form.

TreeSong Nature Awareness and Retreat Center seeks support in volunteer coordinating, social media, public relations, photography, general program support, groundskeeping, building and maintenance, administration assistance, grant writing, event planning, arts committee, and special events.
