The state Department of Commerce’s Office of Crime Victims Advocacy announced Monday it awarded more than $7.2 million in grants, including $400,000 to YWCA Clark County.

The Vancouver-based nonprofit will use the money to support victims and survivors of crime. It’s one of 22 organizations around the state that received grants.

YWCA also raised $17,621 for the Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA, program last week during Give More 24!, an annual day of charitable giving. These volunteers advocate for the best interest of children who are in court due to abuse, neglect or abandonment.
