Association for blind athletes to host games

The Northwest Association for Blind Athletes is hosting a Paralympic games for children with visual impairments Oct. 4 in Salem, Ore., according to a news release.

Judo Paralympian Ron Hawthorne and Judo World Champion Liana Mutia will coach youth who are blind and visually impaired at the event, 999 Locust St., which runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Youth participants will also participate in Goalball, a sport for individuals who are blind and visually impaired, tandem bicycling and beep baseball.
