Mountain View used its fast-paced offense to earn a non-league victory at District Stadium in Battle Ground.
The Thunder scored twice in the first quarter, with Austin Lee hauling in a 45-yard TD pass from Alec Cann and Riley McCarthy scoring on a 4-yard run.
McCarthy, a junior quarterback, was a dual threat passing for 93 yards and rushing for 65.
Steven Hancock was the workhorse for the Tigers, earning 136 out of their 146 rushing yards and both scores. His nine yard TD run cut Mountain View’s lead to 14-13 late in the second quarter.
Mountain View’s defense shut out Battle Ground in the second half. A 9-yard run by VA Ili and a field goal by Jude Mullette gave the Thunder breathing room down the stretch.
