Columbia River dominated the first half, holding Ridgefield to just 42 yards in the opening two quarters in a 2A Greater St. Helens League game at Chieftain Stadium.
The Chieftains (1-2 overall, 1-0 2A GSHL) started their first five possessions on the Ridgefield side of the field, stalling their first two drives at the Spudders’ 1-yard line before finally breaking through, scoring touchdowns on five of their next six possessions to take a 35-0 lead at halftime.
Columbia River quarterback Mason Priddy finished with 285 yards and two touchdowns, finding Max Sturtevant for 9 catches for 95 yards receiving in the win.
Ridgefield (0-1, 1-2) rallied in the second half, with running back Hunter Abrams scoring a pair of touchdowns and forcing a fumble in the third quarter, but the Spudders couldn’t close the gap. Abrams finished with 111 yards rushing.
