Camas’ Tyler Forner is Week 2 prep football player of the week

Camas’ Tyler Forner is the Week 2 prep football player of the week, edging out Castle Rock’s Wyatt Partridge for the honor.

Forner returned punts 34 and 64 yards for touchdowns in the Papermakers’ win over Hazen on Friday.

Athletes may win the player-of-the-week honor once during the regular season and cannot be nominated in consecutive weeks.

The voting typically opens on Saturday night and ends at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Here are the other Week 2 nominees.

  • STEVEN HANCOCK, BATTLE GROUND: Hancock rushed for 197 yards on 24 carries and scored two touchdowns in Battle Ground’s win over Burlington-Edison.
  • AIDAN HOYT, UNION: Hoyt intercepted three passes in the Titans’ win over Steilacoom.
  • CARTER MONDA, EVERGREEN: Monda passed for 322 yards and five touchdowns in the Plainsmen’s win over Centralia.
  • WYATT PARTRIDGE, CASTLE ROCK: Partridge rushed for 256 yards on 36 carries and scored three touchdowns in the Rockets’ win over Mark Morris.
