Felida — Skyview High School’s Justin Lindsay earned first place in the Extemporaneous Speaking contest at the National SkillsUSA championship. To qualify for the national contest, he had to finish first in the state. The contest requires contestants to give a three- to five-minute speech on an assigned topic. The competitors are judged on voice, mechanics, platform deportment, organization and effectiveness. This was Lindsay’s second year competing in SkillsUSA after he earned a fourth-place finish in the Extemporaneous Speaking contest previously.
