Prairie clung to an early lead to defeat Parkrose to kick off the 2019 high school football season.
Led by AJ and Zeke Dixson, the Falcons cruised to a 38-7 lead immediately after halftime. AJ Dixson had already thrown for three touchdowns while his brother Zeke Dixson had caught one and returned a kickoff 78 yards for another score.
Parkrose slowly started to chip away. While the Falcon defense held the Bronces to minus-6 total yards in the first quarter, Parkrose made adjustments and responded by outscoring Prairie 33-20 in the second half.
The damage proved to be insurmountable, however, as Prairie held on for the victory.
AJ Dixson finished with six passing touchdowns and 273 yards on just 10 completions. He also led the team in rushing yards.
