Clark County awards mark disability employment awareness

Clark County will present five Community Awards intended to honor the role of people with developmental disabilities in the workforce and business community. The ceremony will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Heathman Lodge, 7801 N.E. Greenwood Drive.

The county announced the ceremony information in a press release on Thursday. The event is sponsored by the county, the Vancouver Business Journal, Trader Joe’s and the Clark County Development Disabilities Advisory Board.

The awards will be presented to a large employer, a small employer, an employee with a developmental or intellectual disability and “people being honored for their extraordinary service to those with developmental or intellectual disabilities.”
