A bicyclist struck a vehicle Wednesday morning at an intersection in west Vancouver.
Vancouver police officers, firefighters and medics responded around 9:40 a.m. to Kauffman Avenue and West Fourth Plain Boulevard for a report of a crash.
Witnesses told police the bicyclist was not wearing a helmet, possibly went through a red light and then “hit a vehicle,” Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said in an email.
The bicyclist was taken to a hospital for a possible head injury, Kapp said. They were conscious but nonverbal at the scene, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.
Officers temporarily shut down the intersection.
