New business
A business previously located in Los Angeles recently made its home in Vancouver. Funhouse Labs is a jewelry design company owned by Erica Stout, who was looking to relocate to a city with a “slower pace — somewhere that her innovative thinking and creative process could really stretch out and grow,” according to a news release by the Small Business Development Center. Stout received a degree in apparel design from Cornell University and previously taught fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. After mostly working in clothing design, including designing for Target, Stout began designing jewelry in 2012. Jewelry from Funhouse Labs is sold through local boutiques and online at funhouselabs.com.
