Community volunteers are needed to plant native trees and shrubs during three events in Clark County this autumn.

The volunteer plantings, organized by the Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership, will be:

• 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and Nov. 16 along Burnt Bridge Creek at Meadowbrook Marsh North, 3017 N.E. 93rd Ave., Vancouver.

• 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 23 at the Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge, along the south side of state Highway 14, east of Washougal.

Volunteers, including families, of all backgrounds, ages and abilities are welcome to participate. The estuary partnership will provide plants, tools, snacks and warm drinks.

Volunteers should dress for the weather and wear sturdy closed-toe boots or shoes. Rubber boots could come in handy for the Steigerwald planting. Volunteers also are asked to bring reusable water containers and travel mugs for drinks.

Advanced registration is required and can be done through the estuary partnership’s website: www.estuarypartnership.org/get-involved/volunteering.
