Clark Athletic Report: Women’s soccer set for playoffs

WOMEN’S SOCCER

Record: 11-3-1 overall, 11-0-1 NWAC South (first place))

Last week: defeated Clackamas 3-1 to finish regular season.

Next: Clark will host an NWAC quarterfinal match on Nov. 9

Notable: The Penguins finished 2019 NWAC South play on a 63-match unbeaten streak in divison play. They won their last nine matches and now await an opponent for the NWAC playoffs. Clark has a first-round bye into the quarterfinals. … Freshmen Madison Goss (Union HS) and Kiara Kallie (Washougal HS) finished the regular season tied for 12th in the NWAC with nine goals each. Sophomores Hannah Eakins (Washougal) and Natalie Paul had eight goals each.

MEN’S SOCCER

Record: 5-5-2 overall, 3-5-2 NWAC South (fourth place)

Last week: won at Lane 2-1, lost to Southwestern Oregon 2-1 to end regular season.

Notable: The Penguins’ loss to Southwestern Oregon eliminated them from postseason contention.

VOLLEYBALL

Record: 11-18 overall, 2-10 NWAC South (ninth place)

Last week: lost at Lane 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-21)

This week: Clackamas at Clark, 6:30 p.m. Friday; Umpqua at Clark, 2 p.m. Saturday.

CROSS COUNTRY

Next meet: NWAC Southern Region Championships on Saturday at Clackamas.
