Bahá’ís worldwide are celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of the Báb, a divine messenger of the faith of Bahá’ís, a small number of whom reside in Clark County.
On Monday evening, local Bahá’ís gathered at the Water Resources Education Center in Vancouver to celebrate the anniversary by listening to several speakers and enjoying a variety of cultural performances.
The Báb is often compared to John the Baptist, a Jewish prophet and Christian saint. Bahá’í, which began in Persia but has adherents around the world, teaches that all monotheistic religions are one, sharing essentially the same message.
