Christopher Mitchell and the Air Force rushing attack are taking flight.
Mitchell, a senior from Mountain View, has started the last three games at center for the Falcons (6-2, 4-1).
Mitchell, who started five games as a junior, took over as starting center after an injury to left guard Kyle Krepsz caused usual stater Connor Vikupitz to move to that position.
The reshuffled offensive line has wasted no time clicking. Saturday, Air Force rushed for 448 yards in a 31-7 win over Utah State.
In the past three games, the Falcons are 3-0, have outscored opponents 130-57 and are averaging 472 yards per game, 380 of it on the ground.
Mitchell, who is majoring in management, completed Operations Air Force training and was on the cadet cadre for Basic Cadet Training in the summer of 2018
