The weather front that went through Friday deposited .04 of an inch in Vancouver’s rain gauge. That’s it for the month as strong, high pressure holds off our coast until the end of October.
The overnight lows will drop into the 30s all week. If you are in a wind sheltered area away from east winds, expect lows in the 20s.
Air will be dry with dew points below 20 percent, unusual for this time of year. That is usually reserved for an arctic air mass in winter. Afternoon highs will be in the 50s all week. The forecast for Halloween trick-or-treating is dry and chilly. Leaves will be rustling around as one walks down the sidewalk.
Extended forecast models point to dry weather well into November. One reliable model suggests even colder temperatures. A couple of others point to milder temperatures. The 60s and 70s are gone unless we get lucky with full sunshine and calm winds and a sneaker 60 here and there. With the dry conditions, you may experience static electricity in your home and lots of zapping.
